Welcome To Little Fishes

June 2008

You don’t have to attend our Church to come to Little Fishes!

June

Anne read the story  "God knows all about me". We had fun singing new songs with Marilyn. We made a picture of ourselves, we stuck wool on for our hair, gosh we had some brightly coloured hair!

May

Barbara told us the story of  the Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle. Many of us were able to join in as it is our favourite story.  We then had a fun time making a beautiful butterfly we stuck it onto a straw and we could make it fly!

April

Gary came to visit us and told us the story about Jesus at Easter. We made sad faces when Jesus died and happy faces when he came alive on Easter Sunday.  Then Gary showed us a surprise.  Can you see?  We all made our own egg and chick finger puppet and to take home.

 SURPRISE!

March

We listened to the story of Jesus riding on a donkey on Palm Sunday, and we were all given palm leaves to wave and afterward we made a picture.

February

We made a display depicting Psalm 150.

Here we are at work colouring in our instrument pictures - it was thirsty work!

About Little Fishes

Little Fishes is for children O-5 years and their carers. Everyone is welcome - mums, dads, grandparents or friends - just bring along your little ones.  Are you new to the area and don’t know many people? You may have been working and suddenly a little person comes along and you have all this time on your hands but nowhere to go. Are you worried about coming on your own? You can always get in touch and we will be there to meet you and give you a friendly welcome.

What do we do?

We sing songs and have a story. Sometimes it is a story from the bible, and at other times it is a story which has a very special meaning. If someone has a birthday we sing Happy Birthday! The children especially love playing percussion instruments. Over the months since the group started, we have searched the church for lost sheep, planted bulbs, made decorations for our Little Fishes tree to enter in the Christmas Tree Festival and much, much more. Whatever we do we have fun and enjoy meeting up each month.

We meet in church on the second Monday of each month (except August) at 2.15 pm and finish in good time for you to be able to pick up older children from school.

We would love to see you.  Come along and be one of our Little Fishes!
